Bio

(Eric Mayweather is a native of New York City.  Born January 10, 1968. He began his musical career at the young age of 4. He began singing at various churches around New York with his older brother Johnny, who also was a self-taught musician.  His mother Lillian, who attended Julliard music school also was an accomplished musician who played the organ and piano for her sons. After watching his mom and brother play the Hammond organ, Eric began to teach himself how to play. After while he began playing for the Washington Heights Baptist church where his mom was the minister of music. Eric also began doing some acting as well in a school play "A mid summer's night dream.” He then was offered a part in a Broadway play but turned it down with aspirations of playing college basketball.  After graduating from John F. Kennedy high school, he left New York heading to Augusta, Ga to attend Paine College. After arriving at Paine College Eric became the director and musician for the gospel choir. He also walked on to the men's basketball team. He began to sing and play at various talent shows on campus and around town. He then started playing for the Second Providence Baptist Church in North Augusta, S.C. Where he is presently the minister of music after 30 years. After meeting different musicians around town, he began to play keyboards for the Impact Band. Here is where he was encouraged to be the lead singer for the group.  After doubting whether he could, he did it for one show, and history was made. He never looked back! A star was born. Since then Eric has been the lead singer for several different bands around the CSRA. Presently Eric is the lead singer for The Finesse Band (Columbia, SC) and has his own band, Brown sugar (Augusta, Ga.). Eric has shared the stage with several well-known artist! To name a few: Freddie Jackson, Angie Stone, The Temptations, Cherell, George Clinton, and a host of others.  He has a gospel cd "Life Changing" which consists of traditional song that he loves with an Eric Mayweather twist. Also, his R&B cd  
"For your love" a smooth soulful cd which consists of some of the great hits as well as 4 tracks that Eric wrote himself. He continues to travel around the world singing and playing with his bands enjoying the gifts that God has given him.)
